green trees during sunrise

In 2023, my husband made my lifelong dream a reality. We bought just over 10 acres and began building our small farm. What a wild ride it has been. Our house wasn’t ready until March of 2024, so for months we drove back and forth twice a day to care for the animals. Once we finally moved in, everything began to flourish.

Today, we have around 40 dairy goats, three Jersey cows, a mini Jersey bull, a Belfair bull, and a Dexter bull on the way. Add in more chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, and guineas than I can count—and let’s not even get started on the dogs and cats—and it truly feels like a zoo around here. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now for the heart of our mission: we’re working toward becoming as self‑sufficient as possible. We want to grow as much of our own vegetables, fruits, meats, and dairy as we can—not just for our health, but for the well‑being of our friends and neighbors. We hope to have our meat handler’s license in the next few months. We’ve already started vegetable, herb, and medicinal herb seeds indoors as we prepare for spring, and those will be available for purchase as well.

Check back often—our dreams evolve quickly, and we love sharing this journey with others.
